Born out of the massive influx of Italian migrants during the late 19th century, Little Italy was once the heart of Italian-American life in the city. Today Little Italy is more and more becoming Littler Italy - mostly because of the extension of Chinatown district - but a nostalgic memory of the past still lingers over the neighborhood.
